We are inviting you to Breaking In: Early Careers Insider Panel, hosted by the Marketing & Strategy Club and Black in Business Club.

This event brings together emerging voices across marketing, communications, and strategy to offer an honest and practical look into breaking into the industry.

Our panel features:

James Mercer (Creative Marketing Strategist @ Freelance Insider)
Funmi Lijadu (B2B/B2C Communications Professional @ Jumpstart)
Gregory Ojo (Marketing Specialist @ Warner Music)
Kate-Jean Bafundila (Sales Development Associate @ Business of Fashion)
Kayinsola Oredola (Influencer Executive @ WPP)

They will share their personal journeys into marketing and strategy, offering insights into the skills that helped them stand out, how they navigated early career challenges, and what it really takes to break into competitive roles. The discussion will also explore industry trends, differences across sectors, and how to build relevant experience — from freelancing to corporate environments.

Topics will include interview strategies, staying culturally and commercially relevant, building a personal brand, and developing in-demand skills across creative, digital, and strategic roles.

We’ll conclude with a live Q&A and networking reception, with complimentary food and drinks provided.

Join us on 2nd April, from 6pm at Bayes Business School, LG003 (Bunhill Row)
