Danyang is an ex-trader at a hedge fund and a serial Entrepreneur who believes in helping others in finding their passion and reaching their potential. She was invited to judge competitions for start-ups, helping students with pitching and writing effective business cases. In her spare time she travels to universities around UK, speaking to students about careers and her own experience. She found that students are often confused about next steps after graduation and need guidance in what industry, which company, what skill set they need and especially where to look for opportunities. She decided to start Lighthouse Careers in order to reach out and help a large number of young people to find their way and happiness in life. Aside from Lighthouse Careers, she runs an event company NexusNow, which aims to help busy professionals to make the right connections simply and enjoyably. Victoria Tattum
Victoria is currently Accenture as a Strategy Consultant. Previously she has worked at Michael Page, one of the largest recruitment firms, headhunted to help them grow Corporate Finance, Asset and Wealth Management sector. Within a few months of her start she has successfully placed candidates in asset management and corporate finance firms. She believes in understanding what type of roles and opportunities the candidate will suit through coaching sessions rather than just phone interviews and CV matching. She specialises in helping international students use their culture to their advantage and believes coaching students to succeed in application process is key to help them showcase their true potential. She is has recently taken leave from Accenture to help her mum build up her business. She believes that the key to her success is having the right mentors and coaches that guide you. In partnership with Danyang she has set up careers coaching company (Lighthouse Careers) to ‘equal out’ the playing field for international students and help them secure corporate positions successfully in UK.
