Please join the Energy & Commodities Society for a guest lecture with Ezio Lauro, the Head of Quantitative Forward Trading at Centrica Energy.

Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) contracts have emerged as essential tools facilitating both investment in renewable energy projects and risk management for energy producers. This session delves into the intricacies of PPAs, examining their associated risks and advantages, identifying key stakeholders, and offering insights into pricing and hedging strategies. Drawing inspiration from real-world examples, participants will gain valuable understanding of various PPA structures and how to price them.

Ezio Lauro is currently Head of Quantitative Forward Trading at Centrica Energy, where he and his team trade energy derivatives and manage the PPA book for Southern Europe. Prior to this, Ezio worked as a quant in Asset Management, after switching career from Civil Engineering. Ezio studied Civil Engineering in Italy and the US, as well as an MBA at Bayes and is currently completing a PhD in Mathematics under the supervision of Prof. Helyette Geman.
