Letter from the Co-Presidents

Dear members and industry professionals,

Six years ago, Bayes AIR-Q Society was established to unite the brightest minds in actuarial science, insurance, risk management, and quantitative finance at Bayes Business School (formerly Cass). Since then, we've grown to over 350 members and more than 1,200 contacts, fostering a society dedicated to empowering the next generation of professionals through mentorship, connection, and collaboration.

Reflecting on our journey, we recognise that our most significant achievements stem from bridging the gap between students and industry professionals. We've hosted events ranging from cyber underwriting and sports fixture cancellation insurance to quantitative finance workshops. We've explored topics including data science, AI, and machine learning in finance, and collaborated with other societies to broaden our members' horizons.

This year, we are excited to reaffirm our commitment with a clear Purpose:

"To foster mentorship, bridge the gap between students and industry, and cultivate the next generation of leaders in actuarial science, insurance, risk management, and quantitative finance.”

Our Purpose encapsulates our dedication to providing students with valuable industry exposure and offering professionals a platform to share their insights with curious minds and discover exceptional talent.

We are proud to share this vision with you and look forward to continuing our journey together, making meaningful connections that benefit both members and the wider industry.

Co-President

With a passion for quantitative finance and a commitment to fostering a collaborative learning environment, I am proud to serve as Co-President of AIRQ. Through thoughtfully curated events, workshops, and mentorship opportunities, I aim to empower students with the insights and connections they need to excel in their careers while providing professionals a platform to share expertise and discover emerging talent. Beyond finance, I explore philosophy and educational reform, which continually bring fresh perspectives to my work. By integrating these broader insights into AIRQ's program, my vision is to bridge the gap between academic theory and real-world financial practices, forming a community of future leaders in finance.

Boran Cho

Co-President

With almost nine years of experience in the insurance industry, I am thrilled to be a part of Bayes AIRQ Society, a place for cross-learning and connecting. Especially having spent four years in the London Market, I hope to create a fruitful learning and networking environment throughout the year by collaborating with many different organisations. Outside of insurance, I really enjoy travelling, which is a great way to switch off but also replenish new ideas and motivations. We all make this Society better! I look forward to working with everyone.

Megha Jain

Whether it's brainstorming new ideas or tackling complex problems, I bring energy and determination to everything I do. On the personal front, I'm a curious soul who loves diving into books that spark my interest, exploring different cultures, indulging in great food, and chatting away with friends. For me, every conversation is an opportunity to learn, connect, and enjoy life's little moments.
